Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse

Assignment: Lowe’s Advertising Agency was asked by their client to produce a
magazine to promote multiple in-store programs and increase hits to their web site.
Lowe’s custom publisher of record declined the assignment, as they believed the
time frame was too short. The agency contacted us.

Solution: The Magazine Works team was given the marketing strategy and a
download from each of the key departments at Lowe’s. We developed a table of
contents around making intelligent, financially sound improvements to the home.
We assigned the stories, created a design template for each section and got
approvals from the brand people every step of the way. We sourced recycled paper
and had four million copies of the magazine printed and bound in ten days using
three plants around the country. We distributed quantities of the magazine to eight
hundred and fifty plus stores across the country.

Result: The magazines were delivered on time and on budget and all copies were
distributed in two weeks. Store managers reported customers requesting issues a
year later and two years after the program at least seventy replies per week were
coming in on the business reply cards we bound into the magazine. Hits to the
web site tripled.
