Initial Assignment: The senior management at Icon International needed marketing
materials to explain how barter worked and how it could benefit potential clients.

Solution: The Magazine Works team learned as much as possible about different
transactions and Icon’s creation solutions to help companies dispose of unwanted
assets. We proposed “A Year in Review” to highlight the products and explain how
they worked. We interviewed existing clients and asked them to go on record in their
profiles. We’ve now done ten years of “Year in Reviews”.

Result: The third party endorsement became one of Icon’s most powerful tools in
gaining new customers and retaining existing ones.

Subsequent Assignment: We wrote and produced a small book about Barter as a
gift for clients. We contributed to the corporate web site, did an advertising
campaign, helped with the strategic plan and worked on a number of sales
presentations.
