Joan Zegras, Founder, Publisher, President

Joan has had an extensive and results-oriented publishing career with
experience on consumer, business-to-business, trade journal as well as
nontraditional venues. She worked on the start-up of American Health;
one of the most successful launches in magazine history and for mass consumer
magazines like Readers Digest and Parade. Joan consulted on a successful
turnaround of RxRemedy, health and wellness for the 50+ market. She
began in custom publishing projects while at Pensions & Investment Age in
the 70’s and has since 1995 started up a number of titles under The
Magazine Works.


John Pritchard, Multimedia/Creative Director

John is an expert in strategic multimedia design and production
. He is an
accomplished creative director, video editor, online learning/web designer
and enhanced eBook designer. John has developed commercial software
products and provided multimedia consulting to Fortune 500 and
Advertising firms such as BBDO, Young & Rubicam, Saatchi & Saatchi,
Time-Warner, McGraw-Hill, Bear Stearns, Citibank, and American Express.
His multimedia career began in NYC by founding one of the world's first
interactive companies to work with Apple and Microsoft on cutting edge
multimedia projects with interactivity, animation and digital video.


Arlene Bouras, Proof Reader, Copy Editor

Arlene worked for Playboy for 34 years. She started as a department of one
but ultimately built and managed a department of six fact checkers, ten copy
editors and ten proof-readers. Arlene also set up and ran the reference
library. She currently works for Hearst on Diversions Magazine and on special
projects, for a literary magazine called Mind's Eye and for Storey
Communications in their book and custom publishing divisions.


Rose Sullivan, Production Director

Rose has run the production, bidding and postal sorts for all of the Working
Women Titles, MediZine and a number of Hearst Titles. She is skilled at
trouble-shooting production runs and getting the most value from printing
suppliers. She understands all aspects printing and production of high quality
and multi-version publications.


Designers we work with:

Alexander Isley
Alexander was responsible for the initial design of SPY Magazine, POV and
Forbes FYI. He was hired to redesign Nickelodeon and HOW Magazine for
graphic designers. He has done extensive consulting on Worth, Fast Company,
Time and Conde Nast Traveler.

John Cohoe and Laurie Baker
John and Laurie work as a team. They are regular contributors to the New
York Times particularly the Magazine sections including Style, Travel, Design
and Architecture. They have worked on GEO Magazine, McCalls and have done
projects for Mercedes, The Museum of Modern Art and worked on numerous
corporate identities.

Aimee Zaleski
Aimee was an art director at RX Remedy. From there she worked on the redesign
of Vegetarian Times Magazine and a number of others in the music
and entertainment area.
